We are halfway through the year, which can only mean one thing. MANTA’s development team has prepared another release that will take your MANTA experience to a whole new level. Here’s an overview of what you can look forward to.

Active Tags

Meet this release’s brightest star—MANTA’s active tags. The active tag feature introduces the ability to specifically highlight selected nodes in the repository and the lineage visualization. With active tags, users can easily flag any asset in the context of their data pipelines. By attributing fully customized icons to individual nodes, teams working on data privacy and data quality issues will significantly improve collaboration and accelerate issue resolution. Nodes with meaningful transformations can easily be identified, and nodes with custom attributes for data sensitivity or data quality (or any other desired condition) are easily highlighted at the detail and summary levels within a lineage diagram. Active tags draw attention to specific assets in any lineage visualization.

Enhancements to PostgreSQL, BigQuery, StreamSets, Talend, and Snowflake

With Release 33, we are enhancing and adding a bunch of new features to our available scanners. If you’re a customer or partner, check out the release notes to read what exactly has been added and improved. Major updates include improvements to StreamSets, Google BigQuery, Talend, and Snowflake. We are adding support for StreamSets Control Hub and BigQuery jobs, additional components for Talend (such as tUniqRow and smart column matching), and multiple new capabilities for Snowflake. We are also expanding the PostgreSQL portfolio with recently validated Yellowbrick and Amazon Relational Database Service

MANTA Perspectives and Open MANTA Integration Export

Last year, we made it easier to organize your own metadata by introducing MANTA Perspectives—a feature that allows you to organize your lineage metadata into your own folders and hierarchies. This release includes an even simpler configuration of MANTA Perspectives so you can have the information relevant to your projects and goals available faster and easier.

And we have something for users who are leveraging MANTA in hybrid environments—further development of Open MANTA. Release 33 brings independent inclusion of dictionary metadata (primarily database and column information) for Open MANTA Integration Export.

Further Support for Containers—Kubernetes

In the last release, we introduced support for container technology, starting with Docker. To ensure even more application flexibility and mobility, we are adding support for another container orchestration system—Kubernetes.

We hope you will find all the new features and the enhancements to existing solutions useful and that they will elevate your MANTA experience. Stay tuned—we are already working on the next release to bring you even more improvements.
