MANTA’s Devs have done it again! They have integrated MANTA with a whole new technology. We are excited to welcome PostgreSQL into our scanners & integrations family! Read on to get the full scoop on release 3.22.
From version 3.22 onward, MANTA is capable of reading scripts and views in PostgreSQL. This means that open-source databases such as Greenplum, the cloud database Amazon Redshift, and other technologies running on PostgreSQL can now be integrated with MANTA as well.
Now, the second best thing that comes with MANTA 3.22 is custom metadata. The custom metadata feature allows you to create mappings between two systems where it otherwise wouldn’t be possible (e.g., MANTA is not able to scan one or both of the systems). With this feature, you can now easily create your own mappings on column, table, and scheme levels, to help you get accurate data lineage in any and every system.
The second version of the EDC connector is now available. The main changes pertain to the visualization of transformations from MANTA inside EDC. Also, with MANTA 3.22 the Apache Pig connector is in the alpha version. (Yay!)
We have started implementing a new connector feature. We have added visible attributes of transformation logic to data lineage at the column level. This means that our customers won’t have to search through all the command results to find transformations for one specific column. As of MANTA 3.22, this feature applies to theOracle connector, but we will add it to more connectors in the near future.
All this and more can be expected in the next release! What can we say? It’s a work in progress. If you have any more questions about MANTA 3.22, feel free to contact us at email@example.com. We are always happy to talk to you.
